{"id":46,"date":"2009-08-12T12:35:01","date_gmt":"2009-08-12T19:35:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.astoriababy.com\/?p=46"},"modified":"2010-02-10T01:07:29","modified_gmt":"2010-02-10T08:07:29","slug":"success-in-the-form-of-romina","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.astoriababy.com\/?p=46","title":{"rendered":"Success in the form of Romina"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As any readers of this website might be aware, Pops and I have been working hard on our <a title=\"Astoria Baby - Exploring Crib Options\" href=\"https:\/\/www.astoriababy.com\/?p=3\" target=\"_self\">quest to find the perfect crib<\/a> for our soon-to-be little one. \u00c2\u00a0Over the weekend we visited <a title=\"Astoria Baby - A Sunday Full Of Cribs\" href=\"https:\/\/www.astoriababy.com\/?p=27\" target=\"_self\">several stores<\/a>, realized what features we were looking for, and generally came to terms with our options. \u00c2\u00a0However, the one furniture line I had originally felt we&#8217;d most like was carried by a store that was closed on Sundays.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nThankfully, <a title=\"Schneiders Baby Store New York City\" href=\"http:\/\/www.schneidersbaby.com\/start.php\" target=\"_blank\">Schneider&#8217;s Baby Store<\/a> has later hours on Tuesdays and Pops and I were finally able to see and experience the Romina line of cribs. \u00c2\u00a0On display they had <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rominakidsfurniture.com\/veroni-hardwood-furniture.html\" target=\"_blank\">Veroni<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rominakidsfurniture.com\/karisma-furniture.html\" target=\"_blank\">Karisma<\/a>, having just sold the floor model of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rominakidsfurniture.com\/nerva-furniture.html\" target=\"_blank\">Nerva<\/a>. \u00c2\u00a0The store carries other companies as well &#8211; and all equally prized for their construction and value &#8211; but none wooed us as much as the Romina Karisma Crib.<\/p>\n<p>Schneider&#8217;s had the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rominakidsfurniture.com\/products-karisma\/crib-ajustable-height.html\" target=\"_blank\">drop side Karisma crib<\/a> on display &#8211; and while it was truly lovely, Pops and I decided that we loved the design and solid construction so much we&#8217;d like to have the option of having the piece around for a while longer &#8211; so we&#8217;re going to go with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rominakidsfurniture.com\/products-karisma\/crib-convertible-into-bed.html\" target=\"_blank\">Karisma Convertible<\/a>. \u00c2\u00a0They sell a six drawer dresser which is just so lovely and well made &#8211; and when paired with the crib converted to a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rominakidsfurniture.com\/products-karisma\/bed-converted-from-crib.html\" target=\"_blank\">full sized bed<\/a>, will outfit a perfect child&#8217;s room or if we change our mind, a really nice guest bedroom.<\/p>\n<p>I wish I could accurately describe how well made this furniture was &#8211; but imagine it as a breath of fresh air from all of the cribs we looked at over the weekend. \u00c2\u00a0There is zero MDF in each piece, they use only sustainable hardwood, and the finish is no-VOC (<a title=\"U.S. EPA - An Introduction to Indoor Air Quality\" href=\"http:\/\/www.epa.gov\/iaq\/voc.html\" target=\"_blank\">volatile organic compounds<\/a>). \u00c2\u00a0It&#8217;s everything we wanted &#8211; and the price tag is so much lower than the other pieces we looked at. \u00c2\u00a0Prices seem standardized across all locations, and the dropside is $815.00 and the convertible is $995.00 (plus ~$150.00 for the conversion kit). \u00c2\u00a0The dresser is a bit pricey &#8211; but as a solid piece of furniture that doesn&#8217;t scream &#8216;baby&#8217; it seems well worth it at $1,245.00.<\/p>\n<p>Yes, we are well aware that baby furniture can be gotten for cheaper &#8211; but I really do feel like this is an excellent purchase that suits us and our tastes well. \u00c2\u00a0I&#8217;m thrilled we finally found something that we both love and are excited about. \u00c2\u00a0One thing down, about a thousand left to go!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As any readers of this website might be aware, Pops and I have been working hard on our quest to find the perfect crib for our soon-to-be little one.
