NY City/State Sales Tax 8.88%: $4.71
NY Passenger car rental tax 6%: $3.18
NY MCT district supplemental rental tax 5%: $2.65
Total: $82.04
Fortunately, when I signed up I was able to apply a discount code that credited me $50. If it wasn’t for that, this would have hurt — especially considering a full day rental from Avis, Budget or Enterprise may have been less.
