Darjeeling Chai

Nibbledish.com’s 4X4 Darjeeling Chai Recipie

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Water
  • 1/4 cup of Whole Milk
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons of Glenburn 2nd flush Darjeeling tea leaves
  • 1 Cinnamon Stick
  • 4 Cloves
  • 4 Whole Cardamom Pods
  • 4 Black Peppercorns
  • 4 teaspoons of sugar
  • Ginger (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Take a small saucepan and boil the water. Add in the tea leaves and leave to for a few minutes.
  2. Add in the sugar and spices and boil for a few more minutes until reduced by about half. Pour in the milk and warm through to drinking temperature.
  3. Strain into a pot and serve.

  • 3-1/2 cups of water
  • 2-1/2 cups of (whole) milk
  • 3 tablespoons of Darjeeling tea leaves
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 8 cloves
  • 8 whole cardamom pods
  • 8 black peppercorns
  • 8 teaspoons of sugar
  • ginger
